Kettering University has named Dr. Laura Vosejpka as the Dean of the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts and Professor of the Practice in the Department of Chemistry. Dr. Vosejpka serves as the founding dean of the newly established college.
In her new role at Kettering, Vosejpka will oversee the Departments of Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Liberal Studies, Mathematics and Physics.
“I am excited to appoint Dr. Vosejpka as the founding Dean of the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts,” said Dr. James Zhang, Kettering University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Dr. Vosejpka brings with her a tremendous track record as a respected leader in both industry and academia. I look forward to her vision and leadership.”

Vosejpka has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Chemistry and English from The Ohio State University. She was previously a faculty member and associate Dean at Northwood University and a faculty member at Alma College. She has also worked in research and development roles with The Dow Chemical Company.
Most recently, Vosejpka served as Lead Faculty/Director for physics, pre-engineering, organic chemistry and non-majors physical sciences at Mid-Michigan Community College in Harrison and Mt Pleasant, Michigan. She served as Chair of the General Education Committee and is a member of the inaugural class of emerging leaders in the Michigan Community College Leadership Academy.
